Franco's Restaurant is the kind of place you stumble upon and never forget--a true hidden gem in the city! The food here is exceptional, with the fish and greens easily taking center stage for me. But here's the kicker--you can pair your choice of meat with just about any side they offer. There might be a slight upcharge on some of those sides, but trust me, it's well worth it. And if you're feeling nostalgic, don't skip the Kool-Aid. Yes, you read that right--Franco's serves Kool-Aid, and it's hands down my favorite drink to wash down the meal. The fish is fried to order, which means it's always hot and crispy, arriving at your table fresh off the fryer. Pair it with greens that have just the right kick and tender green beans, and you're in comfort food heaven. Every bite is packed with flavor, making you feel like you've just uncovered the best-kept culinary secret in town. Service at Franco's is a breath of fresh air. The staff is friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home the moment you walk in. They strike the perfect balance between being attentive and letting you enjoy your meal at your own pace. The ambiance? Cozy, down-to-earth, and with a vibe that invites you to stay a little longer. You'll quickly find yourself wanting to make this your go-to spot. Now, here's a fun little fact about Franco's: It all started as a family-run pop-up in the owner's backyard. Their mom, according to local legend, was the go-to cook in the neighborhood--famous for her flavorful and hearty meals. She was so good, in fact, that neighbors would line up for her Friday fish fries. The community couldn't get enough and eventually pushed Franco to open the restaurant we now know and love. And lucky for us, the tradition continues! If you're looking for a spot that feels like home but delivers unforgettable food, Franco's is where you need to be. You won't regret it.

If you're looking for Soul Food then this is your place. I have been there three times and each one was a 5 star experience. The food is excellent and portions are good size. The staff is friendly and polite. The dining room is comfortable and always clean. The menu varies by day with items like fried chicken always available. The Franco's is easy to find right of the Dixie and there is plenty of parking. Delicious food, fair price, clean comfortable dining room earns them 5 stars from me.

The fried catfish was fire!!!! Sweet tea was good. And had an excellent time with the homies. Greens were unlike anything we've ever had, not used to them cooked like that but we did try them.

The food is so good to me, it only needs your mouth. Excellent. The servers are top notch at their jobs, what amazes me is HOW each person goes above to make sure your food is the best they have to serve you. Exceptional...

Luv Franco's! The Soul food served there is better than excellent. On Tuesday they have porkribs that are out of this world! And the extra gravy? To die for. The service and hospitality won't be beat. Sometimes I call and order the whole fried chicken wings when we are having a party or get together. Don't go there unless you're hungry.

One of my favorite places to visit for soul food and fresh fish. I had their fried cod fish sandwich for the first time today and it was fresh, hot and amazing. 5 stars would definitely recommend. I am thinking about ordering it again tonight or tomorrow. lol

When I saw the line inside I knew this was going to be an experience worth waiting for. Gave my friend and me a chance to chat and enjoy the ambiance of people enjoying great food and good company. I had the fried cod which was seasoned to perfection. Paired with Franco's greens and mac and cheese was heavenly. My husband had chicken and dumplings which he said were the best he's ever had. my friend had sweet potatoes and loved them. And don't miss the classic cornbread. You need to treat yourself and go to Franco's.

Fire!!! So good! Black owned and operated. Great hospitality and great food. Soul food with flavor and not salt. Grape kool-aid for that at home feel. Will be back! Side note: kids eat free!!

I have known about Franco's for a while. But I'm never in that area of the city. I'm glad I finally got to try Franco's for the first time yesterday! The restaurant is set up cafeteria style: food line is on one side of the dining room. Tables and booths are available for seating. But I observed at least 50% of their business is take out. We arrived around 6pm on Friday. There was already a line out the door. The line made it easy for newbies like us: we just followed the line to the front. Pick a main entree and pick your two sides w corn bread. Available on this night: fried chicken, smothered pork chop, meat loaf and chopped prime rib steak w onion gravy. Liver and onions were on the menu on the wall but it was not available tonight...sad face. I chose 3pc fried chicken w seasoned cabbage and mashed potatoes. Hubby chose the chopped prime rib w yams and fried potatoes. With 2 cups of water, our bill was only $22!! We sat down at a table to dig into our food ASAP: my chicken has a light, crispy coating like I prefer. But the meat could have used more marinating or brining. The cabbage and mashed potatoes stole the show! They were seasoned so well!! Hubby really liked his chopped steak, too. I really liked the course grind on the meat. Hubby liked the sweet corn bread even more. Service was friendly and efficient during this busy Friday evening. I think the staff is used to this kinda crowd thanks to their food offerings!! I will be back to try some of that liver and onions!!
